Mossley’s Academy team gave a spirited display against League leaders Loughborough Dynamo at Seel Park on Wednesday but succumbed to a 4-2 defeat due to some clinical finishing by the visitors vs some poor finishing by the Lilywhites youngsters.

Loughborough opened confidently and deservedly took the lead on 19 minutes with a well taken effort by Will Heath.

Mossley pressed for an equaliser but were caught out on the break by the pacey visitors as Tznashe Msipa and Jake McCleary stretched the lead to 3-0 by the 36th minute.

Dylan Fitzgerald gave Mossley hope by reducing the arrears before the break with his 10th goal of the season.

The second half saw Mossley dominate but were wasteful in front of goal and Dynamo scored a fourth on 66 minutes as Zack Wolfe headed home from a corner.

Joe Cooper scored a deserved consolation on 83 minutes but it was too little too late for the home side.
