Mossley Academy moved up to 2nd place in the Sports Traider division with a well deserved 2 nil victory at Mickleover Sports.

Having started brightly the Mossley boys took an 18th minute lead with a well worked free kick routine that Aaron Barrow neatly finished to take his tally to 6 for season.

Mickleover hit back ,on the break and only a fine double save from Lawrence Gibson preserved Mossley;s one goal advantage.

Ryan Williams had a great opportunity to increase the lead but shot over the crossbar in the 42nd minute.

In the 2nd half Mossley continued to dominate ,without carving out many goalscoring opportunities whilst good performances from defenders Ryan Smith and Adam Howarth dealt with sporadic raids from the Mickleover forwards.

A triple substitution in the 68th minute brought on Romano Crawford ,Joe Cooper and Sila Cande soon paid dividends ,when Joe Cooper sprung the offside trap and calmly slotted the ball past the onrushing Micklover keeper to ensure the 3 points were coming back to Mossley.

After next weeks half term holiday , the Mossley boys have three home games at Seel Park plus a trip to Belper Town so have agreat opportunity to narrow the gap with early league leaders Loughborough Dynamo.
