Mossley's Academy team gave their best performance of the season so far when drawing 1-1 at Radcliffe on Wednesday afternoon.
Mossley included two emergency signings, goalkeeper Hari Cawthorne and defender Moses Nsiala in a re-jigged side after going over a month without a game due to postponements.
Despite playing up the Stainton Park slope Mossley opened the scoring on 14 minutes when a well worked free kick routine saw skipper Dylan Fitzgerald score at the far post.
Radcliffe created few chances but when they did Cook and Neves were a solid partnership in central defence and Cawthorne saved well in a one-on-one. Just before the break Williams had a great chance to double the advantage but Radcliffe survived.
The game followed a similar pattern after the break but radcliffe found an equaliser on 52 minutes scored by the Radcliffe left winger who found the net with an angled drive.
The result could have swung either way after that. Cawthorne made another smart save and Radcliffe hit also hit the outside of a post.
At the other end Mossley had half chances for Djalo, Fitzgerald and Williams but the final decision making let the Lilywhites youngsters down.
There was a scuffle late in the game that saw Nsiala red carded but amazingly he referee chose to award the two equally guilty Radcliffe players only yellow.
