Bamber Bridge edged a highly entertaining high tempo encounter at Seel Park on Monday evening to inflict the Lilywhites under 21 development side's first defeat since Chris Woods took charge before Christmas.
Despite being without several key players the Lilywhites adapted well and played some fantastic football as they dominated the highly rated Bamber Bridge side throughout the opening 45 minutes.
After a spell of constant pressure Mossley had the ball in the net on 20 minutes through Jake Dunford's looping effort but the goal was chalked off for a very myserious off-side decision.
The deadlock was finally broken on the half hour mark when Aaron Barrow headed home from Ben Richardson's right wing corner.
Bamber Bridge responded well to going behind and equalised on 38 minutes when Kieran Young turned home a low right wing cross.
The game was turned on it's head three minutes after the break when a defensive lapse allowed James Greenwood to slot the ball through the legs of the advancing Stuart Morrison.
The game swung from end to thereon but Mossley were unable to force an equaliser despite coming close on several occasions.
