Mossley under 21's put in a fantastic shift in awful weather conditions to win at previously unbeaten League leaders Barrow at Milthorpe on Friday night.

The Lilywhites youngsters got off to fantastic start playing free flowing football from the off and were rewarded on 10 minutes when Elliott Fenton fired Mossley in front.

Four minutes later and the Lilywhites doubled the advantage as Dylan Fitzgerald stroked home number two.

Barrow pulled a goal back with a clever finish on 28 minutes but despite coming under some heavy pressure Mossley held the lead at the break.

With the elements now in their favour Barrow came out all guns blazing in the second half but a resiliant Mossley held firm and then stretched the lead on 55 minutes when Ryan Rogers was brought down for a clear penalty which was duly converted by Jes Uchegbulam.

Barrow should have been reduced to ten men after a horific late challenge on keeper Cawthorne saw play held up for several minutes but the Barrow player only received a yellow card. The Mossley keeper continued despite being hampered by injury and along with the rest of the team put in a terrific performance.

Barrow pulled back another goal with a powerful finish on 70 minutes but the Mossley boys dug deep to hold on to the lead and take the points against all the odds.
