Mossley's under 21 team extended their winning to start to five games with a hard earned 6-4 victory over Clitheroe at Shawbridge on Monday evening.

Nelson Onwusiri gave Mossley the lead on 14 minutes but Clitheroe equalised through Jack Price within a minute.

Chiekh Thiam restored Mossley's lead from the penalty spot on 28 minutes before Clitheroe were awarded two spot kicks in the space of two minutes just before the break. Finley Devanney scored the first one but saw his second saved by Lawrence Gibson to send the teams in level at the break.

Mossley were back in front again as Papis Touray scored within a minute of the restart and ten minutes later Papis Touray bagged his ninth goal of the season to give Mossley a 4-2 advantage.

With three minutes remaining Jack Price gave Clitheroe hope at 4-3 but that hope was diminished when Jack Howard turned the ball into his own net to make it 5-3 soon after.

With the game in stoppage time both sides added further goals with Kyle Clarke bagging for Mossley and Ollie Stirzaker scoring for Clitheroe as the game ended 6-4 in Moslsey's favour..
