Appointed manager in January 2010 followng Chris Willcock's resignation. Former Woodley Sports manager between 2000 and 2003 who arrived initially at Mossley as assistant manager to Chris Willcock in the close season of 2008. He was also previously a player for Woodley and also served at Stockport County, Hyde United, Stalybridge Celtic and Droylsden.

After a great run during the second half of the 2009/10 season Flanagan helped to lift the side from 16th place up to 7th placed finish but unfortunately resigned due to business commitments at the end of the season. He later became manager of Curzon Ashton.

Following around nine tyears in charge at Curzon Flanagan briefly returned to Mossley as assistant manager to Dave Wild in the closed season of 2019. His stay was short lived though as he resigned in November 2019.

Coach Lee Merricks arrived early in the 2009/10 season after coaching at Leigh Genesis and Chorley and was appointed assistant manager in February 2010 but left to take a full time coaching job in Canada near the end of the season.

Merricks holds a UEFA 'A' Coaching Licence and is a vastly experienced coach having coached for over 23 years and has worked at various professional clubs throughout the UK including Manchester United FC where he worked on their International program. Lee has coached youth football at Wigan Athletic FC, Blackburn Rovers FC, and Blackpool FC in their Academies/Center of Excellences, Lee also managed and coached non league 1st team football in the Unibond Premier Division.
Lee has been an Official Academy Scout for Aston Villa Football Club Internationally also.
As a youth, Lee played for former English Premier league club Blackpool and he has spent the last 10 years coaching in Canada where he is currently residing.

Lee is the Business Development Manager for North America with Sport Session Planner working with Canadian Women's National Program and 18 clubs in the MLS and State Associations across North America plus Clubs in The UK Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham & Liverpool and many other UK Football clubs down to non league.
