Mossley gave a very disappointing display in being held at home by struggling Warrington Town on a glue-pot of a pitch at Seel Park. Mossley rarely got into their stride in a dour first half display that so very few chances created by either side but it was Mossley who made the breakthrough pretty much against the run of play right on the stroke of half time when centre forward Jordan Goodeve found a yard of space to volley home powerfully from eight yards from Andy Thackeray's precise through ball. Mossley failed to capitalise on their lead in the second half and Warrington took the game to their more illustrious opponents with young keeper Sam McEwen called into action to deny Madin and Taylor. Warrington were full value for their equaliser six minutes from time when substitute Graeme Mitchell was allowed room to fire home from 15 yards after some neat approach play by the relegation haunted visitors. |
