Mossley dug deep to pull a result out of what was on paper at least one of the most difficult fixtures of the season.

The visitors defended stoutly in front of keeper Danny Trueman, and Trueman when called upon was in competent form.

Telford, bayed on by a near 2,000 crowd attacked from the off and instantly threatened to win the game inside the first five minutes, but a culmination of brilliant defending and some wild shooting by the home side saw the score remain level and Mossley finally found a foothold in the game.

In Mossley’s first attack Melford Knight forced the ball home but a flag was raised for off-side and minutes later Joe Shaw was denied by a brilliant save by Brock when he looked a certain scorer.

At the other end Telford huffed and puffed, threw men forward at every opportunity and continued to send shots into the massive baying crowd behind Trueman’s goal.

The second half saw the scenario continue as Telford pressed more and more desperately but were quickly running out of ideas on how to break down Mossley’s defence. Central defenders Danny White and Terry Bowker were particularly outstanding in this respect and stuck to their tasks brilliantly throughout.

Danny White . . . impressive defence

At the other end Mossley still looked a threat, particularly from set pieces and Brock struggled to tip Shaw’s deflected free kick onto the bar.
Trueman was called into action to turn Foster’s effort onto the post and away and Hay looked a certain scorer when he broke free on the right but sadly for Telford blazed high and wide with the goal at his mercy.

In the dying moments Mossley finally picked up their first yellow cards of the season when Christian Cooke and Kenny Mayers found their way into the referee’s notebook and Mossley hung on for a very well earned point indeed.
