The Lilywhites suffered their 12th league defeat of the campaign at Seel Park when they were beaten by a resurgent Fleetwood side who are now on the verge of a play-off place.

Mossley started well enough with Turley, Moyo-Modise and Burke lively up front and would have gone ahead but for two good saves by visiting keeper Hurst.

The home side bossed the first half and had the opportunity to take the lead when they were awarded apenalty after one of those ball-to-hand incidents that defenders are always aggrieved about.

However, Moyo-Modise stepped up and, in all honesty, gave Hurst an easy save by offering a weak spot-kick.

The striker was again foiled by the keeper after Turley had put him through before the pendulum began to swing away from Mossley.

Although David Eyres came on for the Lilywhites, their defence was caught napping as Danny Trueman palmed over Michael Brown's chip before the only game came soon afterwards.

Milligan’s ‘route one’ ball from the left fell to Brown who got between two defenders to put the ball into the roof of the net.

Trueman was also fortunate not be sent off when he handled the ball outside the area, only receiving a yellow card before watching Milligan fail to take advantage of the free kick.
