Mossley slipped to defeat on their first visit to Derbyshire this season as they went down 2-1 to Ilkeston Town.


Mossley started well and took the lead after only five minutes through Peter Wright who fired home from 15 yards after playing an excellent one-two with Christian Cooke.
Home keeper Scoot pulled off some excellent saves to keep Mossley at bay but Ilkeston equalised when Chris Adam caught Mossley momentarily napping to prod home in the18th minute.

Paul Robinson appeared to handle before scoring on 29 minutes to give the homes side a highly flattering lead.

Mossley responded and despite creating a number of chances Mossley were unable to find an equaliser, manly thanks to keeper Ben Scott who thwarted Knight (twice), Wright (on a number of occasions), Burke, Shaw and Furnival who all had scoring opportunities.One double save from Wright and Cooke was breathtaking.

Mossley struggled to retain their first half dominance after the break despite winning a number of corners and free kicks around the Ilkeston box It was the home side that finished on top and they earned a penalty when Nicky Thompson conceded a foul in the box but hit the bar from the penalty spot.
