MOSSLEY'S UniBond League, premier division survival hopes were dealt a massive blow following a 2-1 home defeat by North Ferriby United.

Jason Beckford's side now finds itself 10 points adrift of safety and seemingly needing a miracle to beat the drop.

It is typical how the breaks go against teams when they are struggling and this was underlined when loan-striker Clive Moyo-Modise saw a shot strike the United crossbar.

The visitors snatched the lead late in the opening period after the fates again conspired against the Lilywhites when Chris Bolder's shot was deflected off Stephen Sheil and looped over keeper Steve Wilson.

United doubled their lead early in the second half when Neil Allison bundled in a corner at the far post.

Mossley pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute when Moyo-Modise scored from 10 yards after a well-worked move down the right.

It set up a grandstand finish as Mossley threw everything at United who held on to complete a league double.
