Colwyn Bay confirmed their place in the end of season play offs with this 3-1 win over Mossley at Llanelian Road that Bay manager Neil Young described his side's performance as "one of the best of the season"

Mossley showed why they have been on such a good run lately by dominating the opening half hour, playing at a high tempo and forcing a number of corners and deservedly taking the lead on 31 minutes with a penalty.

Stuart Graves brought down Chris McDonagh as he bore down on goal and Mike Fish scored from the spot.
Mossley should have had a second penalty when McDonagh was fouled as he was about to shoot but the referee bizarrely awarded a free kick the other way.

The referee was again the centre of attention as Bay equalised six minutes later. Graves’ hanging cross saw Mossley keeper Peter Collinge pushed in the back as he went to gather the ball and Anthony Sheehan was credited with a goal even though he didn’t touch the ball. Mossley argued heatedly for a foul on the keeper, but the goal stood.

Steve Settle was unlucky moments later when he chipped Bay keeper Farai Jackson but the ball curled agonizingly past the post.

The Seagulls finished the half strongly with Chris King inches wide with a shot from 25 yards that had the keeper beaten.

Colwyn Bay continued to attack with purpose at the start of the second half and won the game with two fine goals in the space of 10 minutes. From a free kick into the area on 56 minutes, Rigoglioso scored with a brilliant angled volley from the right corner of the Mossley box into the far corner of the net. Then on 66 minutes the Mossley defence were fooled by Rigoglioso's dummy from a Sheridan cross and Sheehan ran in behind him to score from close range.

Mossley worked hard to try and get back in the game, forcing a number of corners, but Colwyn Bay came closest to adding to the score when substitute Jimmy Kelly rattled a post with a screamer from 25 yards.
