Mossley had to battle hard to earn a point at in form Bamber Bridge on Tuesday night and had a first half Chris Rowney brace to thank for earning a share of the spoils.

It was something of a backs to the wall display by Mossley who were put under a lot of pressure, particularly in the second half but the result could have gone either way as the Lilywhites missed a couple of gilt edge chances to win the game at 2-2.

Bamber Bridge went closest early on when Clark saw his effort come back off the upright and Waddecar had an effort blocked by Peter Collinge.

Mossley took the lead with their first attack of note in the 11th minute. Chris Rowney's great shot took a slight deflection and flew past home keeper Hinchliffe.

Collinge saved well from Taylor before Mossley lost right back Daryl Weston with an injury in the 17th minute with Ryan Barrow his replacement.

Chris Rowney doubled Mossley's lead on 33 minutes when he latched onto Lee Constantine's pass to fire an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

The home side found a route back into the game in the 57th minute when Barrow upended Waddecar and Brig' skipper Michael White sent Collinge the wrong way from the spot and then eight minutes later found an equaliser when Gavin Clark squeezed the ball home.

Mossley attacked and Hinchliffe made a great save to deny Kristian Dennis while Rowney fired a thunderous shot just wide of the post. At the other end Galliers and Taylor both went close for Brig'. Matty Kay then lobbed over the bar from a good position before Waddecar rounded Collinge but went too far and shot weakly into the side netting.

Mossley lost substitute Ryan Barrow with an injury in the closing stages meaning the visitors had to finish the game with ten men having already used all three substitutes.

The game ended with Dennis firing over the bar for Mossley and then the Lilywhites defence held firm to survive a last minute free kick on the edge of the box which was blocked by the defensive wall.
