In-form Durham City took the points in a game that saw two defensive errors gift the game to the visitors.
Mossley created the first clear chance when visitors keeper Lewis Graham puulled off a vgreat save to deny Mike Fish's looping header.

The home side again went close when Chrios pauley only just failed to meet a peach of a left wing cross from Mike Oates and home debutant Lee Rick had a shot well saved by Graham.

Mossley survived when Danny Warner cleared off the line from Amar Purewal's effort before Mossley's recent nasty habit of conceding the first goal continued in the 25th minute. Stephen Thompson out-muscled Mike Jones before beating Collinge with a low shot inside the post.

Mossley started the second half well, putting pressure on the Durham defence and Cavell Coo's shot saw his shot well saved.

The game became flat as Mossley made to make any serious inroads into the well drilled Durham defence.
The result was wrapped up in the 70th minute when Gareth Ayers through ball saw David Dowson lob into an empty net as Peter Collinge raced off his line to no avail.

Substitutes Kristian Dennis and Chris Hall upped Mossley's attacking tempo but Dennis' effort was saved by Graham and Hall fired narrowly wide before Cavell Coo fired over the bar after a neat Mossley move as the Lilywhites tried in vain to find a lifeline.
