Mossley finished with another emphatic but hard fought win over a tough and resolute Harrogate Railway at Seel Park on Saturday.

Harrogate took the early impetus and Mossley keeper Peter Collinge was twice called into action making good saves to deny Maloney and Palfrey.

Mossley finally sttled into the game and began to dominate possession as Harrogate were forced to defend deeper, while constantly looking to set their hard working forwards on their way with long balls out of defence. I ploy that could have paid dividends but for some excellent Mossley defending.

Matty Kay, now really re-finding his best form and a hand in almost every attack and was a constant threat, Kristian Dennis was denied by a flying save from Railway keeper Parry and was twice denied in one-on-ones by the Yorkshire side's solid stopper , Mike Fish had hit the bar and teo efforts were cleaered off the line before Mossley finally tookk the lead on the stroke of half time. Mossley's increasing pressure paid off when Matty Kay found half a yard on the edge of the visitors box to curl a superb right foot shot into the top corner giving Parry no chance.

Harrogate never really recovered and failed to impose themselves after the break as Mossley's domination became all but total. The second goal arrived on 62 minutes. Mike Fish played a crafty through ball and Kristian Dennis finally got his goal as he confidently slotted past the stranded Parry.

More chances came and went as Mossley sought to stretch their lead and finally did so with a real goal of the season contender. A move that started with Michael Thomas in the right back area ended with Matty Kay slotting home from ten yards in between which seven 'quick as you like' passes through the Harrogate defence had taken place. True quality.

Shortly before the goal a bizarre incident earned Ben Richardson a yellow card. Mossley had won a throw in near the technical area when an old football was thrown onto the pitch. When Richardson kicked the ball back over the wall he was booked for 'time wasting'. When Ben's complaint to the referee continued after the goal he was then red-carded.

That unfortunate event failed to take the gloss off another excellent Mossley display and one which helps push the team further towards it's goal of a top five finish.
