Mossley put in another promising display to beat Blue Square North neighbours Hyde at Seel Park with three well taken goals.

Mossley got off to a great start, putting the visitors under heavy pressure from the start with 'man of the match' Chris Rowney pulling the strings in midfield and keeping Hyde on the back foot. The Lilywhites took a deserved 10th minute lead when Mark Connor flicked on a right wing corner and Daryl Weston arrived at the far post to power home a diving header.

Hyde appeared happy to sit deep and hit Mossley on the counter attack and it was one such situation that gave Hyde their equaliser in the 19th minute. Lee Rick tapping into an empty net following good work on the left by Michael Lee.

Mossley continued to press and had several close calls before another Hyde counter attack paid dividends in the 36th minute. Mossley carelessly lost possession in the Hyde half and Rick was sent scampering through on the left. His shot was partially blocked but the ball broke for Scott Mooney to tap home.

Mossley appeared more solid at the back after the break but continued to press forward in search of an equaliser and that duly arrived in the 63rd minute when Aaron Chalmers rose highest at a right wing corner to power home a fine header.

The winner came 15 minutes from time when Ben Richardson broke through on the right and despite his shot being partially saved by Hyde stopper Craig Mawson, his effort had just enough weight to take it over the goal-line as Hyde frantically attempted to clear.

Mossley looked the more likely to add to their tally with the arrival of new signing Osebi Abadaki, his pace causing problems for the Hyde defence, while at the other end the Mossley defence comfortably held firm through to the final whistle.
