Mossley rediscovered the winning formula with a convincing win over in form Wakefield at Seel Park on Tuesday night. Mossley had lost 3-2 at Wakefield only a couple of weeks earlier but on this occasion a three point haul was rarely in doubt.

Wakefield caused a number of problems for the Mossley rearguard in the early stages with the giant throw ins of Marc Roberts and several excellent corner kicks by Lawrence Hunter causing their fair share of problems, but fortunately the home goal remained unscathed.

The Lilywhites broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Mike Oates found space on the left to cut inside and fire inside Jan Zolna's near post from six yards for his 13th goal of the season.

The first half pettered out somewhat but Mossley were to save their best football for the second half. Chris Hall replaced the injured Mike Fish at the break and his skill and power was to have a powerful impact on the second half. As was man of the match Sam Hare who's excellent movement and passing skills came very much to fore as Mossley started to make serious inroads into a now overworked Wakefield defence.

Cavell Coo replaced Oates on 66 minutes before Mossley doubled their lead in the 70th minute. Chris Hall chased down a through ball and was blocked off by Bears skipper Wes Milnes and Matty Kay (who also had a good game) stepped up to hammer his third penalty in two games against Wakefield this season.

Mossley aplied more pressure as Wakefield now disappeared as an attacking force. Kris Dennis was unlucky to see Zolna block his point blank effort after some fantastic work by Cavell Coo along the right dead ball line and Daryl Weston saw a long range effort fizz past the post.

There was then a cameo appearance for Aaron Chalmers on his surprise early return from injury as he replaced Kris Dennis on 75 minutes.

Mossley wrapped up the win in the closoing minutes. Hare's through ball was defelcted into the path of Matty Kay and the Mossley midfielder hit his 13th goal of the season firing high into the roof of the net from the edge of the box to seal a confident and convincing victory.
