Mossley were without the experienced trio of Band, Halford and Innes for this low key visit to Cheadle Town which again gave the younger members of the squad a chance to shine.

Several of them did shine as Mossley edged a 2-1 victory over a hard working and enthusiastic home side who were hell-bent on taking a higher league scalp.

However, it was Mossley who came out on top with two well taken goals by Joe Heap on 10 minutes and Danny Egan on 75 minutes.

Captain for the day Cavell Coo was again outstanding, first at left back and later in central midfield, whilst there were again promising performances by the likes of Heap, Alex Byrne, Nick Swirad, Kayde Coppin and Omar McKenzie.

The opening goal came when Coppin darted skilfully across field from right to left and fed Heap who skipped past his marker to curl the ball home from a tight angle.

Cheadle equalised just before the interval when their lanky centre half was allowed to dribble unchallenged up the centre before the ball was crossed to the far post to be knocked home by their centre forward.

The winning goal came when Danny Egan broke free on the left and curled a lovely lob over the stranded Cheadle keeper.

Mossley created a host of other chances but were unable to add to the score while Cheadle also went close on several occasions but a win for Mossley was just about deserved in the end.
