Mossley were far more convincing winners than the scoreline suggests in this mostly one sided contest at Robin Park Arena on Saturday.

Mossley controlled the flow of the game from the off with home keeper Jay Foulds the main obstacle preventing an avalanche goals.

Chance after chance went begging before Mossley finally broke the deadlock four minutes before the break. Cavell Coo played an exquisite ball down the left touch line that sent Lee Rick racing past two defenders before cutting along the deadball line and crashing home a great strike from a difficult angle.

Wigan created their first real chance of the game in the opening moments of the second half but Steve halford made the final clearance. Mossley created more openings but were unable to finish them and were punished on the hour mark when the Lilywhites lost possession in midfield and the home siide's number 10 finished well by chipping over the stranded Nick Ashley.

Mossley continued to force the pace but keeper Foulds was proving a difficult man to beat. That is until the 72nd minute. Substitute Danny Queeley went on a great run down the left leaving defenders in his wake before crossing low to the far post where Scott Barlow was waiting to bundle the ball home from close range.
