Mossley stormed to a convincing 3-0 win over mid table Farsley at Seel park on Tuesday night with striker Sam Madeley leading the way with superb goals in each half.
The Lilywhites were in cruise control for much of the game and simply had too much attacking flair for the Yorkshire side.

Manager Steve Halford made only one enforced change from Saturday’s draw at Burscough with Lewis Nightingale making his first start since January replacing the unavailable Chris Brown with Adam Mather returning to his more familiar left back role.

Nightingale, Lee Rick, Chris Denham and Sam Madeley all had decent chances to score before Madeley bagged his first on 25 minutes.

Sam Madeley

The livewire Mossley forward caught Farsley centre back Jackson in possession just inside the Farsley half and raced clear to round keeper Morgan to slot home from an acute angle.

Farsley had little to offer in response with their long ball game in a strong wind unable to prize open an in form Mossley rearguard.

The visitors biggest threat came from set pieces with veteran left back Simeon Bambrook’s fierce in-swinging corner kicks providing a danger that Mossley keeper Russ Saunders dealt with brilliantly all night.
The second half saw Mossley comfortably complete Farsley’s misery with two further goals.

The second goal in the 55th minute was of the highest quality. Chris Denham clipped a super angled ball over the Farsley back line and Madeley reacted quick as a flash to volley home his 20th goal of the season from 20 yards.
Madeley’s pace and movement had caused havoc for the visitors defence all night and his brilliant double strike was a just reward for his efforts.

The result was put beyond doubt in the 64th minute when Lewis Nightingale won the ball in midfield and clipped the ball over the last defender and keeper before following in to head home a bouncing ball into an empty net from close range.

Mossley had further chance to increase the lead but the t6hree goal margin was easily enough for the Lilywhites to complete a League ‘double’ over the Yorkshiremen with a convincing performance which augers well for the three vital forthcoming games which will define the club’s season with the play offs now in sight.
