Mossley gave another confident attacking display to take maximum points and continue their 100% away record at a bright and sunny Stainton Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Orange clad Lilywhites had Chris Rowney back in the side having completed his three match ban while Sam Madeley partnered Kayde Coppin in attack to form a very lively front two.

Coppin was again just about unplayable and scored both Mossley goals as he ran the Radcliffe defence a merry dance throughout. So much so that his marker, the hapless Laquan Esdaile was red carded 5 minutes from time after Coppin had yet again shown him a clean pair of heels only to be brought tumbling by the unfortunate Boro defender.

Madeley had also caused problems for the home side, particularly in the first half, with some pacy runs and excellent hold up play as Mossley dominated the game playing up the Stainton Park slope in a mostly one sided opening period. That Mossley didn't score more than the solitary first half goal was largely down to Boro keeper and captain Nick Culkin who kept his side in the game with several quality saves.

Having twice earlier been denied by the acrobatics of Culkin, Kayde Coppin wasn't going to be denied a third time and when he ran onto Adam Mather's raking through ball on 23 minutes he first drew Culkin from his line and then slotted the ball calmly into the far corner of the net for a fine and fully deserved goal.

After more or less being footballed to death by the talented five man Mossley midfield of Rowney, Jay Gorton, Ash Young, Cavell Coo and Adam Mather in the first half, Boro rallied after the break and finally applied some pressure themselves for the first time in the game as Mossley had Martin Pearson to thank for a great save when he tipped away Ben Wharton's powerful strike from 25 yards.

However, as the half wore on, with Boro having made few inroads it was Mossley who re-asserted themselves and it was no real surprise when the visitors doubled the lead in the 64th minute. Substitute Sam Hind, on the field for Madeley just a few minutes earlier, superbly shook off Alex Mortimer's challenge before laying the ball into Coppin, who nipped to the side of his marker before leaving Culkin rooted to his line as he stroked the ball into the net at the near post from the edge of the box.

Boro brought on former Mossley youth teamer Matty Chadwick and finally upped their game, with the speedy winger giving Mossley a new set of problems and Mossley's game had seemingly briefly dropped a gear when they allowed Ben Wharton to squeeze home a header after Pearson had first made a great double save to deny ex Mossley players Wharton and Chris McDonagh.

So with just 12 minutes remaining Boro were back within a goal of Mossley in a game where the home side had been very much second best for the vast majority of the afternoon. This current Mossley squad is made of stern stuff though and they continued to scrap for every ball and still created further chances. Culkin twice denying Coppin the match ball his performance deserved while Hind and Jay Gorton also went close.

The dismissal of Esdaile just about ended it for Boro, though they did have a further half chance when ex Mossley reserve teamer Calvin Crooks fired narrowly wide with a powerful shot. After this Mossley confidently played the clock down in the corner to stretch their lead at the top of the Evo-stik League table to 4 points.
