Mossley strolled to a comfortable victory over NWCL Premier Division new boys Abbey Hey on Saturday as Mossley's pre season preparations moved on apace.

The visitors were stronger all over the park and controlled the game throughout, scoring three goals and carving out numerous other opportunities.

Some great appraoch play was negatively rewarded in the opening half with some wayward finishing as Kayde Coppin, Andy Hurst, Lewis Nightingale and Brian Matthews all had reasonable opportunities to open the scoring before the deadlock was broken on 32 minutes. Kyle McGonigle's through ball found Kayde Coppin and the livewire striker made no mistake from fifteen yards.

As with the previous games managers Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison made their substitutions gradually through the second half with two of them finding the net within two minutes of each other in the 60th and 62nd minutes.

Firstly, Mossley won a corner on the right wing. Nightingale's floatted cross found the far post, Brian Matthews looped a headed effort goalwards whiuch was clawed away only for Andy Keogh to plant the ball home with a close range header.

Charlie Weir entered the fray following the goals and moments later scored with his first touch turning home confidently after Nightingale had provided the pass for Hurst to cross from the right.

The visitors were in cruise control thereafter and there were again several impressive performances by the Mossley boys as the new look squad begins to take shape.
