Mossley completed their pre season programme with a comfortable 4-0 win over competitive Manchester League outfit Wythenshawe Amateurs in Tuesday's hastily arranged private friendly match at Seel Park.

After the visitors had had a couple of early pot-shots to test rookie keeper Christian Thewlis, Mossley took control with two early goals both scored by Dougie Carroll, the first stroked home after the young striker was played through a gap in the visitors defence and the second from the penalty spot after he had been fouled in the box while trying to get his shot away.

Paul Pearson, in his first appearance, slotted home Mossley's third on the half hour as the Lilywhites sailed into a comfortable lead.

The second half saw a number of substitutions but only one further goal as a Wythenshaw defender turned a Callam Gardner right wing cross into his own net with eight minutes remaining.
