Mossley eased to a comfortable victory over Maine Road in Thursday's friendly played on Maine Road's second pitch with Brian Matthews leading the way with a hat-trick.
It took only eight minutes for the Lilywhites to take the lead when Matthews raced through a gap on the right and stepped inside the last defender to fire home from ten yards.
Mossley's lead lasted only a minute though as Maine Road broke down Mossley left and a low cross was unfortunately turned past his own keeper by Kevin McGrath.
Mossley regained the lead four minutes later when Matthews took advantage of a static Road defence to pounce for his second and the Mossley forward completed his hat-trick on 35 minutes with another neat finish.
Italian trialist Christian Travaglini latched onto Dan Vinten's long ball to win the race with Maine Road's keeper to prod home the fourth goal a minute before the break.
The score remained the same until the 77th minute when Travaglini netted his second as he held off a defender's challenge on the edge of the box before calmly slotting home.
