Mossley utilsed a number of fringe players in this midweek friendly at the recently formed Stockport Town. The new club, based at Stockport Sports Village, have assembled an exciting young squad and have plans to join the North West Counties League next season.

The Mossley XI edged the game 2-1. Saul Henderson opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a well placed 20 yard shot before Stockport equalised five minutes after the break through Paul Naylor.

The game was won six minutes from time when Kyle McGonigle scored from the spot after Henderson was brought down.
