Mossley continued their pre season build up with a narrow victory over Winsford United at the Barton Stadium on Monday evening.
The only goal of the game was a penalty scored by Dougie Carroll after the Mossley number 9 had been pushed in the back as he challenged for the ball from Brian Matthews' cross.
A feisty game saw some strong challenges as both sides fielded a number of each others former players. Included amongst the former Mossley lads were striker Cameron Darkwah and midfielder Matt Tierney.
It was Tierney who came closest to an equaliser for the home side as his powerful late effort was bound for the top corner before Liam Higginbotham made a stunning one handed save to maintain the clean sheet and seal the Mossley win.
