Mossley, with a very different line up than the one which faced Stalybridge Celtic two days earlier, proved too strong for North West Counties Leaguers Congleton Town on Thursday evening.
After dominating the opening half Mossley took the lead on 41 minutes when following good work on the left by Tom Pratt and John Buceto the ball broke for Ryan Hibbert to slot home from 15 yards.
The lead was doubled on 75 minutes when Brian Matthews' low cross from the right was hammered home from close range by John Buceto.
The Lilywhites added two further goals in the closing minutes. Tom Dean turned the ball home from close range after Jack Pritchard turned the ball across the box and a minute from time Caldon Henson scored at the second attempt after his first effort was saved.
