Mossley finished a busy pre season with a 1-1 draw against Evo-stik Premier Division side Ramsbottom United at Seel Park on Saturday.
The Lilywhites were left bereft of several important players through injury and unavailability so Messrs Band and Morrison got the chance to review the rest of the squad.
The visitors certainly had the better of the opening half as Mossley's ball retention was nowhere near the standard set in the previous outing against Hyde.
Ramsbottom took the lead on 12 minutes when James Blair mistimed a challenge on the speedy Kuba-Kuba on Mossley's left wing and Lee Pugh curled a super free kick beyond Will Jones' reach and into the far top corner of the Mossley net from a somewhat improbable angle.
However, neither side offered much goal threat for the remainder of a half which became increasingly niggly, a trend that continued throughout most of the game resulting in both sides collecting a couple of cautions each.
The Lilywhites improved after the break with the tricky Luke Horrocks and the hard working Sam Howell more prominent.
Mossley were by the later stages the only team creating chances and after a few close calls finally found the equaliser with five minutes to spare. Horrocks pin point ball finding Mitch Bryant in space and the Mossley striker confidently stroked the ball past sub keeper Ashley Shenton.
