Mossley were a little unlucky to go down 2-0 to reigning Evo-stik League Division One North Champions Warrington Town at Seel park on Tuesday night.
A very strong Warrington side dominated the early proceedings and took the lead on 13 minutes. Scott Metcalfe cut inside from the left and set up one time Mossley striker Ciaran Kilheeney for a simple finish.
Mossley's best chances of the opening half saw Tom Dean twice head narrowly wide and Tom Pratt was denied by Karl Wills block save. At the other end Kyle McGonigle made a great goal-line clearance to deny Kilheeney a second goal.
The second half saw Mossley gain a strong foothold and the Lilywhites dominated possession for good periods. The Lilywhites had a goal disallowed for a very narrow off-side when former Oldham Athletic striker Jordan Bove scored from close range after good work by Omar McKenzie and Tom Murray.
McKenzie was then unfortunate to see his looping header come back off the bar from Kyle Harrison's cross before Warrington sealed the win in the 78th minute.
Mossley lost possession in midfield and two passes later Steven Gillespie squeezed through a gap to finish calmly for the visitors.
