Mossley and Glossop North End drew a blank in this re-arranged Evo-stik League encounter as the Lilywhites and the Hillmen played out a goalless draw at a misty Seel Park on Thursday evening.

The Mossley team showed three changes from the previous game. Johnny Diba Musangu returned to gaolkeeping duties, James Blair started his first game in over a year replacing the unavailable Dieter Downey and Elliot Harrison came in for the injured Adam Latham.

The Lilywhites were first to create anything of note as Liam Ellis and Tyrell Palmer both came close to taking an early lead.

At the other end Diba Musangu was alive to danger as he blocked Lewis Lacy’s near post effort and soon after made a good save to palm away Courtney Meppen-Walter’s well struck free kick.

There were few clear chances for either side in an evenly contested first half.

The second half saw Glossop dominate territorially for a lengthy spell but were unable to find any openings against a well organized and disciplined Mossley defence.

In the later stages it was Mossley who got on top and the Lilywhites missed two great chances to take the points.

Mason Duffy’s run down the left and low cross was met by substitute Danny McLaughlin but he fired over the bar with the goal at his mercy and Liam Ellis also fired over when well placed as Mossley finished the game on top but without the reward of a match winning goal.
