Evo-stik Premier Division side Buxton proved too strong for an off-key Mossley in Saturday's friendly at Seel Park running out comfortable 5-0 winners.

Mossley, without a few important players, were generally out-played by a big and mobile Buxton side who look set for a good season on the evidence of this showing.

The Bucks side contained three former Mossley players in Tom Dean, Gary Gee and Ash Young and all three had good games. They along with livewire Italian number ten Diego Digirolamo, powerful centre forward Anthony Wilson and hat-trick scoring winger Bradley Grayson were better than anything the Lilywhites had to offer on the day.

It took only four minutes for the visitors to open the scoring when a sweeping move saw the trialist left back arrive unmarked at the far post to lash the ball past Tony Aghayere.

Grayson scored his first on 24 minutes when played through a glaring gap in the heart of the Mossley defence and Grayson bagged again five minutes before the break to give the visitors an unassailable lead.

Mossley should have been awarded a penalty just before the break when Max Leonard was fouled well inside the box. However, the referee decided the offence had taken place outside the area and instead awarded a free kick. Skipper for the day Ben Richardson was yellow carded for his protestations and Leonard fired the set piece just over the bar.

Mossley created a few half chances but Buxton went four up on 58 minutes when Andreas Bianga broke clear and walked the ball around Aghayere for a simple tap in.

The rout was completed in the final minute when Grayson tapped home his third and Buxton's fifth to complete Mossley's woes.
