Mossley made a fantastic recovery to over come a two goal deficit at the newly merged Evo-stik League East pace-setters Ossett United in Saturday's classic Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round tie at Ingfield.

Mossley were able to recall Jonny Diba Musangu in goal but were without striker Max Leonard who was best man at a wedding with Liam Ellis taking his place in the starting line up.

Mossley were quickly on the offensive from the off forcing a number of frantic clearances by the highly rated home side.

Ellis and Godwin Abadaki both had great chances to give the orange clad Lilywhites the lead but both fluffed their lines with presentable chances.

Ossett eventually settled into their stride and Diba Musangu was called on to make a brilliant save to deny the lively Chippendale. The quality of Chippendale's crosses were to cause problems for the Mossley defence all afternoon.

The game constantly swung from end to end as both sides went all out to win the game. Chances ensued at both ends of the pitch but goalkeepers Diba Musangu and Leigh Overton were both in fantastic form.

Overton did brilliantly to deny efforts by Mike Fish and Mason Duffy while Diba Musangu was equally brilliant in saving from Chippendale and an amazing point blank save to deny Corner.

The game started to swing Ossett's way in the second half and they were awarded a 'soft' penalty on 60 minutes when Adam Jones was adjudged to have fouled Tom Corner. Gibraltar international Adam Priestley hammered home from the spot.

Mossley were quick to respond as Overton again excelled to deny Fish but Ossett were soon undeservedly two ahead. Chippendale appeared to be in an off-side position when he received a pass from midfield and his low cross was turned home from six yards by Tom Corner.

Mossley had replaced Duffy with Ben Halfacre and the big striker was soon in action firing narrowly wide with a great first time strike. Halfacre wasn't to be denied though as he halved the arrears on 71 minutes firing home a crisp left footer from the edge of the box.

Ossett could have increased their lead again moments later but Priestley's header flew over the bar. .

Mossley sensed their chance of staying in the competition and the pressure increase. Jones, Abadaki, Fish and Halfacre all had half chances and an equaliser began to look a real possibility.

That equaliser finally arrived with seven minutes left on the clock as Adam Jones squeezed the ball home from a tight angle at the far post to deservedly pull Mossley level and force a Seel Park replay on Tuesday 4th September.
