Mossley will want to quickly put this below par performance behind them as a hungrier and harder working Avro side took a three goal first half lead which they were then able to defend against an improved second half Lilywhites showing.
A high Mossley defensive line was regularly undone in the opening period and Dylan Forth had already been forced to save three one on ones before Danny Parkinson forced home the opener on the half hour.
Worse was to follow as former Mossley man Liam Ellis twice burst through to score in the closing minutes of the half.
Mossley were much improved after the break but were held at bay by a hard working Avro defence.
Beside Ellis the Avro team contained three other former Mossley players, Adam Latham, Adam Mather and Ciaran Harper.
