Two goals in the space of four first half minutes were enough to a secure a Mossley win in Saturday's visit to Hallmark NWCL club Chadderton.
A much improved first half showing saw Mossley create several chances and the Lilywhites took the lead on 28 minutes when some great interplay between Astley Mulholland and Andy Keogh on the left wing saw Max Leonard in the perfect position to turn the ball home from ten yards.
Four minutes later Mossley doubled the lead when Mulholland's free kick just inside the Chadderton half was received on the edge of the box by Ryan Brooke who swiveled to rifle home a fine first time shot.
After Mossley missed a great chance at the start of the second half Chadderton halved the deficit on 52 minutes when substitute Chambers headed powerfully home from a right wing corner.
Chadderton had a great chance to equalise on 70 minutes when Ben Woods conceded a foul inside the box but home midfielder Connor Berry fired his spot kick high over the Mosley bar.
There were chances at both ends after that but both sides were wasteful with their opportunities.
