When Mossley and Witton Albion first met at Seel Park just a few weeks short of a hundred years ago Mossley won the game 4-1, however, in Saturday's first home pre season friendly and despite genarally dominating the game, the Lilywhites went down to a 1-0 loss to NPL Premier Division Albion.
Mossley had several chances scattered throughout the game but failed to take them with the game's only goal coming against the run of play on 29 minutes when Tom Owens stole in at the near post to turn home a right wing cross.
Mossley played some neat and tidy football and for the most part kept the ball well, but decisions in the final third were disappointing with two Ben Halfacre saved efforts late in the game being the closest the Lilywhites came to a goal.
