A goal in each half saw Andy Keogh's Mossley go down to League leaders Workington at Borough Park on Tuesday night.

Having made the long midweek journey to Borough Park the Lilywhites didn't get the start they wanted. In only the 4th minute Nathan Waterston received the ball in acres of space and advanced without any challenge to slip the ball past Mossley keeper Liam Lovell.

Much of the first half saw Mossley defending but they did so successfully meaning the deficit remained at one.

In the second half Mossley pressed further pressed further up the pitch which meant that the home home team could no longer play from the back.

A spell of Mossley pressure silenced the home crowd and the Workington players began to misplace passes.

However, somewhat against the run of play the game was settled in the 80th minute when home substitute Millenic Alli scored with a low shot through a crowded penalty area.

A loss for Mossley after six games unbeaten but a very creditable performance.
