Two goals in three minutes early in the second half gave Mossley bragging rights over Premier Division neighbours Ashton United in Saturday's behind closed doors Seel Park friendly.

Warm sunshine welcomed the Lilywhites back to Seel Park after the enforced five month absence but the game was a largely sedate affir with very few scoring chances, particularly in the first half where the nearest eith side came to a goal was when Harry Pratt headed narrowly wiode from Waller's left wing cross.

Substitutions at half time had an almost immediate impact as just three minutes after the restart Danny McLaughlin escaped down the right channel and finished calmly from fifteen yards to give Mossley the lead.

Three minutes later and the lead was doubled as Antony Brown confidently strode around the Ashton keeper to slot home a well taken goal.

Thereafter there were agin few chances of note as Mossley confidently repelled the Ashton attack to secure the 2-0 score-line.
