Three second half goals were enough to beat a strong FC Halifax Town under 23 side that contained a smattering of players with first team experience at Seel Park on Tuesday.

On a wet Seel Park evening on a slick surface the game had a good tempo with both sides employing the high press without any clear chances for either side.

Halifax came closest when Lovell got down well to keep out ex Barnsley & Rochdale midfielder Reuben Noble-Lazarus' 20 yard effort.

Mossley took the lead on 60 minutes when Dylan Fitzgerald fired home from the edge of the box after Halifax failed to deal with Uchegbulam's right wing corner.

Six minutes later the lead was doubled when Harry Pratt controlled well in the area to fire into the bottom corner from 10 yards.

Goal of the night was reserved for skipper Andy Keogh. Playing his first game since December, the Mossley leader got on the end of Uchegbulam's superb through ball to race clear and nonchalantly fire home from 18 yards with the keeper rooted.

Mossley's second half keeper McFarlane made a couple of decent saves late on to preserve the clean sheet and a season closing win.

Roll on next season!
