Four first half goals scored without reply set Mossley on the way to a 6-2 victory in Monday night's opening friendly at NWCL neighbours Chadderton.
A crowd of around 200 saw the Lilywhites open the scoring on 15 minutes when Andy Keogh stooped to glance home Ben Richardson's right wing corner kick following a spell of Mossley pressure.
Mossley went on to completely dominate the opening half of the game despite skipper Keogh limping off to be replaced by Mossley Academy 'player of the year' Isaac Lopes who confidently slotted into Keogh's midfield berth.
New signing Mason Fawns opened his Mossley account on 30 minutes when he pounced on a Chadderton error to place a clever shot beyond the reach of the home keeper from 20 yards.
The 39th minute saw Mossley go three goals clear when the lively trialist Sobechi Nwaokolo out-foxed his marker on the left wing to cut inside and fire home a confident angled shot from 15 yards.
A fourth goal came a minute before the break when Lopes' perfect through ball found Antony Brown and the big Mossley number 9 smashed home from the edge of the box.
Both sides made half time substitutions and Mossley went further ahead in the 54th minute when Declan Evans powerfully headed home from Fawns' right wing corner.
Chadderton scored a consolation on 77 minutes when the number 7 cut inside his marker to rifle past Hadlow from the edge of the box.
Two minutes later it was 6-1 when the powerful trialist striker Kyle Hawley raced clear to clip the ball past the stranded keeper.
The scoring was completed in the 83rd minute when Chadderton were awarded a 'soft' penalty for a foul and their number 17 stepped up to score from the spot.
