With several key players unavailable for various reasons Mossley struggled against a strong Stalybridge Celtic side in Saturday's final pre season game at Seel Park going down to a 0-3 loss.

Mossley looked generally the more threatening side in the opening half but chances were few for either side. Hadlow denied Celtic's Ryan early on while at the other end, Harry Pratt saw his effort well saved by Shenton and Andy Keogh was unlucky to see his well placed effort curl inches wide.

Celtic were awarded a very soft penalty on 37 minutes when Bakkor went down too easily in the box under pressure from Fawns. Bakkor then scored a cheekily chipped spot kick sending hadlow the wrong way.

As if to rub salt in Mossley's wounds, the Lilywhites were denied a penalty of their own moments later. Keogh played two superb one-two's to find himself bearing down on goal before his legs were swiped from beneath him. The referee's decision, a corner kick.

Celtic doubled the lead on the stroke of half time thanks to a clever Jack Ryan chipped effort that gave hadlow no chance.

The second half saw the visitors dominate for the most part, missing several presentable chances.

Ben Richardson had Mossley's best chance of the half with a well struck 30 yard free kick that Shenton was forced to turn away.

Stalybridge added a third as the game entered stoppage time when sub Matty Hughes scored a rebound after the ball had struck a Mossley post.

Mossley boss David Fish will hope to have at least some of some of his unavailable players back in the fold in time for next Saturday's season opener against Bootle.
