A number of missed chances and defensive lapses saw Mossley slip to a 4-1 defeat in Monday night's friendly visit to Winsford United.

It all started brightly enough, Mossley controlled the play and came close to scoring several times throughout the opening twenty minutes before deserevedly taking the lead.

The trialist #10 brilliantly controlled a high ball from deep before pulling the ball back for Harry Pratt to score from the edge of the box.

Winsford then began to edge into the game and Mossley conceded twice in quick succession. Joe Duckworth sneaked in at the near post unmarked to slot home from close range and then soon after Duckworth looped home a header that gave Hadlow no chance.

The second half can only be described as shoddy. Chances were wasted at one end with some weak finishing while at the back the defence started taking chances trying to play out from the back and paid the price as Duckworth stole the ball and completed his hat-trick.

Duckworth made it a night to remember for himself and his team when he then pounced on another Mossley error to make it 4-1 to the home side.

The performance will give Mossley boss David Fish plenty of food for thought going into the coming run of home games.
