BECKFORD'S POSITIVE THINKING

Mossley are at home to Marine tomorrow as their UniBond League premier division survival bid continues.

The relegation-threatened Lilywhites are second from bottom while fourth-placed Marine are striving for promotion to Nationwide Conference North.

Mossley are 10 points away from safety, though they have played three matches less than fourth-from-bottom Kendal Town.

Manager Jason Beckford was not too disappointed when last Saturday's league fixture at Fleetwood was called off as defenders Jonathon Smith and Stephen Sheil had been major injury doubts.

The pair are expected to play tomorrow and Beckford is still upbeat despite his side's lowly league position.

He said: “We still have to play a lot of the teams around us so our fate is in our own hands.

“We need to put a good run together, but the spirit is good and hopefully we can translate that into positive results.” )
