BECKFORD SNAPS UP TRIALIST STRIKERS

27/07/06

Mossley boss Jason Beckford has responded to positive displays by trialist strikers James Tyrell-Nestor (pictured) and Steve Burke by adding them to his squad for the coming season. Tyrell-Nestor has scored 3 goals in 2 games and has shown impressive form, as has teenager Burke.

Tyrell-Nestor's last club was Wakefield-Emley but he spent much of last season recovering from injury. He is a talented striker or midfielder who signed for Eastwood Town in May 2004 but then switched to Ossett Town four months later.

Tyrell-Nestor started out on the books at Halifax Town and also had spells with Farsley Celtic and Eccleshill United before earning rave reviews with his performances for Liversedge in the Northern Counties East League.

Steve Burke has signed following his release by Bury where he was a regular goalscorer in their reserve team.

Bury manager Chris Casper said of Burke after releasing several players at the end of the 2005/06 season, "The difficult decision was with Steve Burke and he could be the one that in the future we turn around and say ‘we should have kept him'.
