Sas and Tommo return to the fold

19/10/07

Mossley have today completed the signings of former Lilywhites players Steve Sheil and Nicky Thompson.

Steve Sheil, affectionally known as 'Sas' now begins his third spell with the club having originally signed in the close season of 2002. Re-signing for the first time the following February after a spell with Flixton and now after a brief time with Curzon Ashton.

Sas (26) began his career as a junior with Blackpool and Rotherham United before making his non-league debut as a 16 year old with Droylsden.

He made 179 appearances for Mossley at left back and central defence scoring 19 goals. He was Mossley supporters Player of the Year in the 2003/04 promotion season.

Nicky Thompson (also 26) re-signs after a spell out of the game. He was last season's Mossleyweb 'Player of the Year' being one of very few consistent performers in an otherwise dreadful season.

'Tommo' originally signed in the Summer of 2005 after recovering from a long term injury picked up while he was a full pro at Bury.

He has so far made 69 appearances for Mossley scoring 1 goal and has played in a variety of positions in defence and midfield.
