Following the leagues decision to split the first division into two we were not happy with having only 18 clubs but the Football Association intend to increase this to 20 then to 22 asap (by 2010/2011 season). but further restructuring of steps 5 & 6 and other movements may mean it can be done earlier. A case of suck it and see.

The league are to implement a 42 league game structure for the coming season with both divisions of 18 playing 34 games and the balance by splitting each division again into nine geographical clubs playing 4 home and 4 away games. and will be implemented as part of the playing season not at the end or by splitting the league at any point during the season.

By increasing the home fixtures to 21 from the original 17 has eliviated some of the fears we had of financial shortfalls and has allowed us plan somewhat better. By not accepting the plan would have created further uncertainty of where the league would be in the grand scheme of things.

I can announce that we have had very favourable responce with the DVD sale bringing in a good revenue.
