Lee is new number 2

New Mossley boss John Flanagan has appointed coach Lee Merricks as his assistant manager.

Lee (29), joined Mossley as a coach in September after spells with Leigh and Chorley.

He was forced to give up playing football at an early age due to a serious ankle injury, but took up coaching instead and has been on the coaching staff at both Wigan Athletic and Manchester United.

Lee had a spell last season as team manager of Leigh Genesis and began this season as assistant manager to Steve Waywell at Chorley. Things didn't work out at Victory Park and he joined Mossley with high credentials and excellent coaching abilities.
