Mossley have signed former Wigan Athletic reserve Chris McCaughtrie from Leigh Genesis.

McCaughtrie (19) was with Wigan for four years, working his way through the youth and academy teams up to reserve level. He joined Leigh last summer upon his release by WIgan.

He went straight into the side in this afternoon's 2-2 draw with Chorley. Mossley were without several players today and were forced to name only two substitutes. Gareth Wager and Kayleme Baxter are both now serving lengthy suspensions picked up playing Sunday football last season. Nick Boothby was injured while Danny Dignan, Danny Egan and Jordan Goodeve were all unavailable through other commitments.
