31/05/10

Mossley AFC are delighted to announce that several players have already signed forms for the 2010/11 season.

Shaun Higgins and his staff have been busy meeting with the players over the last couple of weeks to discuss terms for what promises to be an exciting 2010/11 campaign for the Lilywwhites.

Team Captain Graham Kay, leading scorer and 'Supporters Player of the Year' Matty Kay and midfielder Daryl Weston who returns to the club after a season at Ashton United have all put pen to paper. Last season's players Mike Fish, Jordan Goodeve, Chris McDonagh, Nathan Neequaye and Ben Richardson have also re-signed in the last few days while Lee Blackshaw, Peter Collinge and Steve Settle have all also agreed terms.

Also signing for the Lilywhites are three highly promising young players. Midfielder Ben Lysons (19) a former Blackburn Rovers junior and Oldham Athletic youth and reserve player along with pacey Zimbabwe born striker Leeroy Chinthengah (17) who is a former Oldham Athletic junior who gained UniBond League experience late last season scoring 3 goals in only 4 appearances for Leigh Genesis and midfielder Nathan Kilcourse (18) who has just been released by Oldham. Meanwhile Mossley have also signed Tall central defender Liam Coyne (23) who had a brief spell at Mossley in 2008/09 starring in a 2-1 success at Kendal Town in the FA Cup that season. The Stretford based former Chorley and Witton Albion defender spent last season as captain of AFC Liverpool.

Four more new signings are expected this coming week, two of whom are experienced players who have spent several seasons in the Blue Square Conference.

There are doubts about Andy Watson and Andy Russell. Watson is being courted by Southport and FC United of Manchester whilst Russell is a target for new Chorley boss Gary Flitcroft.
