ONE OUT, TWO IN FOR MOSSLEY

31 / 12 / 11

Defender Steve Halford has been released by Mossley as he seeks to move into a player/manager role elsewhere, but the Lilywhites have signed two players formerly with Wakefield, midfielder Adam Jones and central defender James Stansfield arriving at Seel Park.

Jones first came to prominence in Harrogate Railway's great FA Cup run from a few seasons back and has since spent several seasons with Wakefield broken only by a brief spell with Ossett Town. He is described as "comfortable on the ball, hard working and passionate."

Experienced defender Stansfield (33) is a former full pro with Huddersfield Town and Halifax Town and has since played for Ossett Town, Bradford Park Avenue, Frickley Athletic, Liversedge, Guiseley, Wakefield and Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Regarding Steve Halford's departure, Mossley manager Gareth McClelland added the following, "I am disappointed to have to release Steve Halford from Mossley AFC. This is solely due to financial reasons. Steve has been superb since joining us at the start of the season. He has given 100 % in both games and training. Steve has also played in a number of positions for team and has been a pleasure to work with. On behalf of the club I thank Steve and wish him all the best in the future".
